About Me
Import from Surrey. Arrived in Cornwall in 1977. Worked then for Decca Radar in Falmouth, before the company disappeared in the early eighties. Was originally G8BLI from 1968 to 1978 and passed the morse test at Land's End Radio station. Also held the callsign ZB2HV for holiday style operation. i'm ex Royal Signals TA, in which I rose to the lofty rank of Corporal. I get my kicks from designing and testing antenna arrangements, and can claim to be the designer of the Lazy B antenna for dual simultaneous V / H polarization. Less active on the airwaves than I would choose, due to the pressure of work, but can be found most Sundays on 5MHz and I get to broadcast GB2RS news there one week in six. The local 2100 net on 2M SSB is also a Sunday meeting place, 9 p.m. on 144.210 MHz. |

A Cornishman in exile since leaving Liskeard in 1965, but still with ties in Cornwall. Was born in the shaddow of Caradon Hill long before any radio masts existed on the hill and watched the ITV mast being erected from the classroom at the then Liskeard Secondary Modern school! |
